February 2014 Favourites

Hello everybody. Hope you are all doing well. I thought today I would do a blog post all about my favourite products that I have enjoyed using this month. I have had many favourites this month and so expect a lot of photos. I guess I have just really enjoyed using different things that are in my collection.

It has really been a mixed month foundation wise. I love all 4 of these as they give me the coverage that I like and blend really easily into the skin. As you can see, I buy high street and high end foundations as I like to try different makes and see which I like the best.
Yes, I know surprise, surprise, again I have been using this all month. I absolutely love this primer, its a flesh coloured primer but then once it is blended into the skin it goes completely clear, but it leaves the skin feeling really silky and helps to get the foundation to blend easier into the skin.

I have finally given into the hype and bought the much loved the Mac Prolongwear concealer and I love it, but I totally agree what I have heard others say about the pump dispensing too much product, and so you have to be really gentle when pressing the pump. The Maybelline Age Rewind is my holy grail concealer and I will continue to use this concealer for a long time to come.

Nyx butter glosses I had heard all about on YouTube, and so I searched on Ebay and found one in the colour Apple Strudel,. It is a truly beautiful product, it is a peach/coral colour and doesn't feel sticky on the lips which is important to me for a lip product.
I love, love the Viva Glam Rihanna lipstick. It is such a shimmery red colour and is not as drying as some of the other Mac lipsticks that are out there.

Eye primer wise, I have stuck to two. Soft Ochre which is a Mac paint pot is a great base for eye shadows, it has a slight yellow tone to it, and so it cancels out any redness or veining that you may have on your eyelids. But I have found a fabulous Elf eyelid primer that is so cheap, I think it cost me a £1, and is a great dupe if you don't want to pay out the quite high prices for the Urban Decay primer potion or the Mac paint pots.

At the moment I am using the newer Max factor Excess Volume mascara and I love it, there is one end that volumises the lashes, and then the second end that is the actual black pigment that helps to darken the lashes and make the lashes look fuller. I found the L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara at the back of one of my drawers and it is a really good mascara, and really help to give you the false lash effect to your eyelashes, that I love.

Again, I'm sure that you are all getting bored with me putting Hoola Bronzer into my monthly favourites but it is a great product and really contours your cheeks without making the colour looking too muddy or orangey. Another bronzer that has appeared regularly is the Nars Laguna, it is a little darker than the Hoola, but it still makes the face appear more sculpted and contoured.I have also enjoyed just putting a little luminosity, into my make up by putting a little shimmer on the top of my cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose and highlighting the cupid's bow. You do have to be very light handed with this product though as it is extremely glittery and can make you look like you have dipped your face into a pot of glitter.
My perfume has been Gucci Guilty. I have recently rediscovered this and it is a stunning fragrance, sweet but not offensive in any way. This bottle is 100mls and so it will last me a good while yet.

I hope you enjoyed this favourites post and let me know in the comments if you have any of the same favourites as me, or tell me what your favourites for February have been.

February 2014 Empties

Hi to all my lovely readers and followers. ITS FRIIIIIIDAAAAAAYYYY!! Woop Woop!! Can you tell I'm glad its the weekend. I've had a really good week though and I hope you all have too.

I've been on a "shopping my stash" kick over the last few weeks and so have been religiously really trying to use products up before they go off, therefore getting my money's worth out of my collection.

Let me tell you I have a lot of products that are empty and so I am really pleased with how I'm doing.

So without further ado, lets get on and let me show you how many things I have used up.
First up is my candle that I finished. My mom had bought me this for Mothers Day last year and so it has been in my collection for a while and so I'm glad I have finally used. I love Yankee Candles and so this was a pleasure to use. Smelt of beautiful roses and made my bedroom smell so lovely.

Wow!! Three whole body lotions used up. I love to use them after I've had my morning shower and make me feel fresh and clean. But don't worry I still have many more of them to use.I was sad though to use up my Alien body lotion up as it is my favourite fragrance ever.

Sure Fresh Crystal, I have discovered is my holy grail anti perspirant. It stops you from sweating and smells really clean. I have since been using a Dove deodorant since the Sure ran out and it is not half as good, and can't wait to use my next Sure Fresh Crystal.
I have finished up one of my favourite foundations, the Revlon ColourStay. It is a medium to full coverage, gives my face a matte finish and can be applied with fingertips, beauty blender, or make up brushes and it always applies beautifully.

Go me!! Go me!! 4, yes 4 shower gels used up. My favourite out of the 4 was the L'Occitane Almond oil, and once I finish all of my others in my collection, I will be repurchasing it as it really is good at making my skin feel silky smooth. Although WARNING!! It did make the bath feel very slippy and so you have to be very careful when moving about the bath so you don't slip over.
Two shampoos finished, I do love these and they really make your hair feel very clean and looks very shiny.
I finished up a Sally Hansen nail polish remover, I do get through nail polish removers quickly because I change my nail polish every other day.
I received this Bumble and Bumble thickening hairspray in a Glossy box (my monthly subscription box) a while ago, and it was a nice product. I didn't notice that it thickened my hair any, but it did hold my hairstyle nicely.
Two tubes of toothpaste this month, my teeth must have been very dirty lol.

5 MASCARAS!!! granted 2 of them are mini's but it is still an achievement in my eyes. The No7 Extreme Length was my favourite, although I'm not sure they still make it any more.

Well, that's it for this month. How have you done with using products up this month?. Let me know in the comments below.

Bought It and Forgot It tag

Hey everyone, hope you are all well. I'm good at the moment apart from having a major earache that tablets just wont help :( but hey ho. On a positive note I went to Daniel's parents evening and it was brilliant, and I am so incredibly proud of my boy.

Right then, onto the post. As you know I'm a little bit of a make up junkie and if new things come out onto the market then I'm eager to buy it and try them out, but sometimes I can get carried away with products that I know I absolutely love and forget about a few of the items that I have bought and they languish away at the back of a drawer, never to see the light of day again. Well, no more I have decided that over the next two weeks I need to use the 4 products that I have chosen and see if I do really like them, and show them some love.

Product no 1
Almay's Triple Effect Mascara. I had heard about this whilst watching a lady on YouTube raving about it and so managed to get my hands on it through Ebay. I love Ebay, and you can find some really good stuff on there, and for cheap prices too. I think I paid about £4 for this a few months back, and look it is still in its packaging. Tut tut, this will be made use of in the next fortnight.

Product no 2

Clinique's Eye shadow and Blush duo in Strawberry Fudge. Look at that shimmer on the eye shadow, and it would work lovely for a natural eye look, I'm not positive but it could even be a dupe for one of the colours in the Naked 3 palette, and that palette is all the rage at the moment.

Product no 3

Mac's Spice Lip Pencil. When I bought this, I loved it and wore it all the time. It is a beautiful terracotta colour and really looks beautiful with either a clear gloss or a light pink gloss applied over the top, and so Im determined to put this pencil to use and create some pretty lip looks with it.

And last, but not least , product no 4
The Urban Decay Flushed Palette. The colours in this are really very pigmented and so a little goes a very long way, and the highlighter, lets just say you need a very light hand when you apply this otherwise you will end up looking like you fell first into a pot of shimmer. But I do love the product I just don't tend to reach for it very often and so I'm going to remedy that soon.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, and I hope it encourages you to look at the back of your make up storage and maybe find things that you had forgotten all about.Let me know in the comments if you are going to be reusing things over the next two weeks.

Sleek i-Divine Garden Of Eden Palette

Hi to all my lovely readers and followers. I hope you are all well.

I have always been a fan of Sleek products and their eye shadow palettes have always had a major wow factor with me. They have an amazing range of colours and they are so pigmented that they will last for ages, as long as you use a base underneath to prevent them from creasing if you find you have trouble trying to make your eye shadows last.

Two or three years ago, I bought many of their palettes and the Storm palette which features some browns, greys and navy shadows is one of my favourites to use on a day to day basis and also their Au Naturel palette I used a lot too, as I do like a good natural eye look.

When I saw that Sleek was releasing a new palette I knew that I had to have it, and don;t you just love the snakeskin packaging, I know I do, really caught my eye when I saw it on the stand.
Lot's of gorgeous browns and plums and greens in this palette, and I know I will get lots of use out most of the shadows in this palette as they are great to use to make a natural smoky eyed look. It also comes with the dual foam tipped applicator which I don't tend to use that much but they are great to use if you want to do some precise crease work, and always useful to keep in your kit.

It is amazing how swatching shadows can really change your mind about certain colours, because at first glance at the light green colours I wasn't sure whether I would be able to make them work, but wow they are beautiful.

The last three green shades are really pigmented and the brown shades are great too. The purples might require a few applications to get up to the level of colour that I'd want but that isn't a problem. The shadows are very buttery and smooth, but they apply lovely with a little fallout but that is easily remedied by just gently tapping any excess off your brush before applying.

The only downside to the Sleek palettes is that i wish that they would put the actual colour names on the actual palette rather than the shiny piece of plastic that is slotted at the top of the palette to protect the shadows from being damaged whilst in store. Speaking for myself I easily lose that piece of plastic and then I can never quote the shade name when I'm trying to recreate a look.

I paid £7.99 at Superdrug for this palette and considering you get 12 shadows for roughly £8.00 that is a true bargain and they are so worth that money. I totally recommend Sleek and especially their amazing eye-shadow palettes.

Do you own any Sleek products? Let me know in the comments what you own and what you think of them.
