June 2014 Empties

Hi everyone. I can't believe we are halfway through the year already, soon it will be Christmas (oh no, I better get saving). This month yet again, I have really been trying hard to finish half opened products and getting rid of them, so that I can use the millions of other products I have waiting to be used in my stash. I love it when you get that feeling of accomplishment when you use a whole product up and the excitement of using a brand new product that you have never tried before.

I wore my hair up in a bun for a lot of the month, as it is easier to manage, and I have to wear it neat for my job. To get that sleek look, I use a lot of hairspray and this Tresemme hairspray is really becoming my go to hairspray. I love the Elnett one too, but the Tresemme is a fantastic hairspray and I would definitely repurchase this. It doesn't leave your hair crispy or crunchy like some sprays can do.
I love these stick anti perspirants as they really make you feel dry and comfortable. They really last a long time too, and so they are great for the price, as you normally have to pay a little more for these stick products.

I think I have been a little conditioner happy this month. I love to use conditioner as it really helps to keep my hair tangle free and gives a lovely shine to my hair. I coloured my hair again this month and so using this colour conditioner from the box of hair colourant, I believe helps to keep some of the dye on my hair longer.

Dental products have been another area I have been working on. I have had a couple of dental appointments in the past few weeks, so have really been trying to work hard on keeping my mouth and teeth super clean. Although my dentist says that mouthwash doesn't really do anything as it is not long lasting, and flossing is far more important.

The Radox bubble bath is what my son had been using, as he loves a lot of bubbles when he has a bath. The Original Source shower scrub was so lovely, and really felt luxurious even though they only cost a £1. The sachet mint shower gel I received in a magazine and this was a fantastic morning shower gel. Really wakes you up and gets you ready for the day. I will definitely be repurchasing some more of this range.

I'm really pleased with how well I'm doing in using up my perfumes. The Ghost Eclipse  I received as a sample inside one of my Glossyboxes. It is beautiful, and I highly recommend you trying it, as I loved it, and once I have used up my millions of other perfumes, I will be getting a large bottle of this. I was sad when I finished this Lady Million as it is such a nice perfume, and it is great to wear during the day for work.

YES!!! I have finally used up 2 facial moisturisers. As you may know, I'm really not good at using my skincare products, and at the beginning of the year I vowed to use my skincare products regularly, but this has not been happening. So, I'm going to try better in the next half of the year and use some more moisturisers up. The sachet moisturiser I either received in a Glossybox or on my Bloggers meet up, back in March.

Make up is very hard to use up, as I like to try and vary what products I use all the time, but lately, I have stuck to a few products all the time, and this is how I have begun to use some cosmetic products all the way to the end.

To be honest, the Almay mascara I used only a few times but it dried up so quickly and didn't really do much for my lashes, so I wont be repurchasing that one, and the Max Factor one was okay, but the tube is so big and bulky, that I found I couldn't really get close to my lashes very well.
I was sad when I finished the Maybelline Fit Me concealer as it is so good at covering up all the dark circles that I suffer from. I would definitely go out and buy this again.
Last of all, I finished a Bare Minerals lipstick in Fly High. It was a blue based pink which is my favourite shade to wear. It is a very soft lipstick and so you have to be very careful when you use it, as it is easy to break it. I loved this lipstick and so hopefully next week I will be able to go out and repurchase it again.

So, how do you think I have done this month? Let me know in the comments below, and tell me whether you get that huge sense of satisfaction when you use a product completely up.

A Meal at the Handmade Burger Company

Last Saturday, after having a little session of window shopping ( yes, I was good in not purchasing anything), I was really hungry and so whilst walking around, me and my partner decided to pay a visit to the Handmade Burger Company, as we had never been there before and had seen rave reviews online. We got there pretty early, and there was only us waiting to be seated. My first impression of the place was that it was very clean and tidy and I looked forward to trying out their food.
A waitress came to seat us, and she was very friendly and welcoming, really made us feel at ease. The only drawback to the restaurant was that you could sit outside if you wanted, but it was too cold for me to want to do that, and to get to the main part of the restaurant you have to go down quite a lot of stairs and so, this was a little negative as because I suffer from arthritis, walking downstairs can be a little troublesome. Nut I made it down and the restaurant looked just as nice downstairs as it did upstairs. The waitress explained how to order as we had never been there before, and explained her favourites from the menu.

I am only a very small eater and so I ordered a child's classic cheeseburger, and my partner had Jimmy's farm Bacon burger, and a side portion of chips. For drinks, we both wanted milkshakes and so we had one strawberry, and one butterscotch. My partner went up to the bar, and ordered and we had to put a number on our table to show where we were seated when our food arrived.
I was super impressed with the milkshakes when they came, they were in huge silver cups and they were freezing cold.
See the ice on the outside of the cup. I had the strawberry milkshake, and you could really taste the fresh strawberries inside the milkshake. It was stone cold and so lovely, really refreshing. We only had to wait 10 minutes for the food, so it came really quickly.
This was my burger, and it was really delicious. Even though it was a child's burger I did struggle to eat it all. The roll was made out of sourdough bread, and even though I had never tried it before, I found it really tasty, and would definitely eat it again. The burger was just so nice and was a lot better than other burgers I had tried from other burgers.
This was my partners burger and it was huge, and the chips were gorgeous. Really tasty, and you got loads for the price. The burgers were that big, that I had to use a knife and fork to eat mine. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was really relaxing and we were made to feel so at ease, and the waitress really was nice and chatty.

For the price we paid, and the gorgeous food, I would highly recommend the Handmade burger Company, such a nice place to eat, and I would definitely go back.

I hope you have enjoyed this post, let me know if you have been to the Handmade Burger company and what meals you have enjoyed there.

Motives Haul

Hi everyone. A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be invited by the lovely Miss Kirsty Lo, to a Motives event. She showed us a huge range of the different make up products that they stock, told us all about the background of the company, and then did make overs on us to show us how well the products worked.I was super impressed with the wide range of colours available and the amount of products you could buy.

I just knew that when I came home, I was going to go online and purchase some of the products that I had seen. One of the things that I fell in love with straight away was a blusher,

It is called Pretty In Pink,a cool toned pink with hints of blue in. I love it and you get so much product, that I just know it will last me ages. The blush is a powder but it blends so well into the skin you will be fooled into thinking it is a cream product.

You know what I am like for my eye shadows, and I just had to get two of them, neutral of course.

I LOVE the colour Bling. It is gold sparkles, and applied to the inner corner it just brightens up the whole look and makes you look wide awake, and who doesn't love a little bit of glitter and glam. Bedroom eyes is a shimmery brown which looks gorgeous just applied to the whole eye lid, for a super quick neutral eye look. When you tap your brush into the eye shadows and blush, there is hardly any excess product being wasted, and you definitely don't get any fallout when applying. There is nothing worse than when you have applied all your face products, then go to apply your eye make up and it all falls down onto your cheek area and ruins your whole look, and then you have to start again.

Last of all, a lipstick had to purchased and I just knew Magenta was calling out to me.

How beautiful is this blue based pink. It is vivid and bright and suits just about everyone no matter your skin tone. It glides onto the lips super smoothly, doesn't drag or pull, it is just a really beautiful product and I know I will be adding more to my collection very very soon.

Another couple of things I wanted to talk to you all about is the packaging  and the pricing. The packaging is super sturdy, and just looks so chic and you know that your products will be safe when you travel, without them getting all smashed in your travel make up bag. One thing that really impressed with Motives is the pricing. I thought it was going to be really expensive, you know along the same lines of Chanel, and Dior. But it is no where near like that. Each product ranges between £10 and £15. So cheap but the quality remains the same as of a high end product.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this post, and I really encourage you to check MOTIVES out online. You wont find them in any actual stores but their  website, is fantastic and super easy to navigate and find your way around. Delivery was so quick too. I ordered on the Saturday dinnertime and my parcel arrived on the following Tuesday morning.

Let me know in the comments if I have encouraged you to have a look at the Motives website, or if you have previously purchased anything and what you love about the brand.

My Purple Nail Polish Collection

Hi everyone. Wow! I have been putting off this post for so long, but I have got so much accomplished today, I thought I would tackle this blog. Today has been so lovely, spent the morning watching Daniel at his Sports Day. Then got both gardens tidied up and sorted, cleaned out the fish tank, cooked tea and tidied round and helped Daniel with some homework. I am shattered now though, lol.

As you know, I do have quite a huge nail polish collection and I thought that over the next upcoming weeks, I would sort of do an inventory of my collection and break it down into colours. In going through my collection, I have had a good sort out, and threw some that were really old, and looked as if they had gone off, and found other polishes that I had forgotten that I had.

I will show you the polishes in order from lightest to darkest. First up is L'Oreal's Nouvelle Vague #851

As you can see it is very pale lilac cream formula, almost bordering on pale blue. It is quite sheer so you have to layer the coats, but as long as you apply the coats thinly, the polish does look very pretty.

Next is Barry M's Blueberry

I love the Gelly Hi shine polishes, because they are exactly that, You really don't need to apply a top coat over the top of them as they are just so glossy on their own. This is called Blueberry but it definitely is more purple based than blue. The first layer is quite sheer, but on the second coat, it is almost opaque. They truly are fantastic polishes.

Another range from Barry M are the Silk nail polishes, and they are just pure beauty in a bottle. This purple shade is called Heather

This is a very light purple with a definite hint of pink to it. The polish goes on so smoothly to the nail and just applies like a dream. They have fantastic consistency, no bubbling when applying it, or lumps appearing. I highly recommend Barry M's polishes, they are beautiful.

I bet you thought I had forgotten my Essie polishes, no way no chance, they are by far my favourite brand of polishes, and this one is no exception and is called Full Steam Ahead. This is a lot deeper in shade than the others, and is a little more opaque when applied.

Max Factor have some beautiful shades to their range and I really like this pretty mini in Ultra Violet. Definitely has reddish/pink undertones running through it. They have all the colours of the rainbow in their nail polish range but this one really stood out to me on the shelf, and I have loved the colour every time I have worn it.

I used to love OPI polishes a few years back but they just seem to go off so quickly. I store them in a box with a lid on top and not in the sun, but every time I go to use one the colour has separated and no matter how many times I shake the bottle they are no good. But the next 3 are polishes that have managed to stay okay, and I am so glad they have because they are beautiful. This shade is DS Extravagance and is a deep purple with gold shimmer running through it. It is so pretty when it hits the sunshine it looks even more beautiful.

I love this OPI nail polish called "Purple with a Purpose. It is a beautiful vivid purple and has such a reflective sheen to it, oh, it is so pretty and has to be my top favourite out of all of these purple polishes. I have worn this shade on many occasions and had so many compliments on it.

Another OPI purple polish, with a very strange name. I think they should win an award for the nail polish brand with the weirdest names. This one is called "Funkey Dunkey". How they came up with that one I will never know!! It is a very dark purple polish, with no glitter or shimmer running through it. With this polish you could even get away with just the one coat if you wanted to as it is so opaque.

Last but not least, is a purple crackle effects polish from Barry M. Now these were all the rage a few years back, and I collected as many colours as I could find, black, blue, pink, white, you name it I had it, and this one I still have in my collection. I like to paint it over some of the lighter colours for a greater contrast, e/g baby pinks, whites and creams.

I apologise for the swatches on the paper, but I need to get more nail wheels as my last lot are all used up.

Well, that's my purple nail polish collection. I hope you have enjoyed reading this post. Let me know if you have any purple polishes that you think I need to add to my collection.
